Ingredients:

32 oz. orange juice (freshly squeezed sweet oranges are best)

4 medium pears

1 cinnamon stick

1 vanilla pod cut in half

5 cardamom pods

5 clove buds

Preparation:

Peel and core pears from the bottom and leave stem intact.

In a four-quart pot, bring orange juice to a boil, and add cimmomon, cardamom, cloves and vanilla bean halves. Lower heat to simmer, and continue simmering pears in juice for 15 minutes. Gently remove the pears with a large spoon, and set aside. Remove all spices and continue simmering juice until it reduces to the consistency of syrup (another 20 min), stirring occasionally.

Serve:

Stand your pear upright on a plate, drizzle orange syrup over the top, and add coconut vanilla ice cream on the side. Enjoy!!!
